The Icelandic Sports Museum
The Icelandic Sports Museum is located in the Museum Hall and was opened in 2002 by two well known former athletes. All recognized sports are introduced at the museum and numerous exhibits connected with sports are on display, such as photographs, equipment of various kinds, flags, pennants, trophies and other memorabilia associated with sport.

 

A part of this exhibition is dedicated to sports in Akranes, as most Icelanders generally agree that when Akranes is under discussion, sport is usually not far off.
